Import & Export Coordination

Coordination for cross-border trade: agreed specifications, documentation and Incoterms for shipments to international buyers.

Scope

What we coordinate

We coordinate the commercial and documentary side of a trade, so that what ships matches what was agreed. Placeholder: Service scope to confirm: import, export or both, and which markets

  • Agreed specifications

Product, packaging and marking confirmed in writing before the order proceeds.

  • Incoterms

The delivery term for each order agreed in the quotation, so responsibilities are clear.

  • Documentation

The documents for each shipment agreed with you before the order is confirmed.

  • Shipment updates

We keep you informed until the shipment leaves under the agreed terms.

Trade coordination

Clear responsibilities on both sides

Cross-border orders involve suppliers, inspectors, forwarders and customs. We keep the agreed specification, documents and delivery term at the centre of every conversation.

  • One written record of what was agreed
  • Document needs raised before the order, not after
  • Updates until the shipment leaves

General information

Incoterms and shipping documents

A short guide to the terms and documents that usually come up in an international order.

Incoterms® 2020

The Incoterms® rules, published by the International Chamber of Commerce, set out who arranges and pays for transport, insurance and customs at each stage. Terms used for sea freight include FOB, CFR and CIF; terms for any mode of transport include EXW, FCA, CPT, CIP, DAP, DPU and DDP.

Shipping documents

International shipments commonly involve a commercial invoice, a packing list and a bill of lading or air waybill, and may need a certificate of origin or product-specific certificates depending on the market.
